Let’s start at random: last Saturday and Monday I spent with a book on Photoshop and the computer with Photoshop 7 open. I need to return the book to the library, so I had to go through crush course in three days. Ouch! I still feel Photoshop-challenged. When normal people learn how to do normal things, I was making swirls and brushes. Yes, I was making brushes. I decided that the world doesn’t have enough Photoshop brushes with dragons and other strange creatures, so I’ve made some – for my training purposes. But if anyone is interested, I can present them.

Friday I spent walking the streets of Toronto, enjoying myself (until my feet started hurting), and then sitting at my friend’s place, watching a new Polish movie (very cute), chatting, and generally having a great time.
Well, my Toronto walk didn’t went all smoothly and without regrets – does it happen to you: when you are asked of something, answer, and several moments later realize that you answered absolutely not what you were asked. It happens to me – in different languages, so it’s not an English understanding problem. ::sigh::
I was planning to write more about Friday, but right now I cannot recall any details beyond kind of wine (Spanish, very good one), food (a plenty, also good), conversations (about life, writing, photography, and in-laws with girls; about our civilization with husbands), and impressions of time very well spent.

Now, Thursday evening and Sunday we went for the bicycle trips. On Thursday it was a short one, to Casa Loma and back. And on Sunday we spent half of a day outside of home – bicycling and enjoying the weather, which was just right that day. Of course, after we came back we were dead. And pretty much stayed dead through yesterday. We’ve seen a lot of beautiful places, we spent wonderful time, but those trips made apparent how ridiculously out of shape I am. I have no muscles whatsoever – and given that bicycling in Toronto is either uphill or downhill… I have no legs any more. I was remembering the flatness of Richmond, B.C. with some kind of nostalgia, but of course, in Richmond, B.C. we had a car. Another thing – it turned out, we place different values on commuting by bicycles: for my husband it is speed, for me it is sightseeing.
Nevertheless, once we gat to lake Ontario, and sat on the beach, it was all good, and here is a taste of the goodness:

Lots of water

A view on downtown far away.

A small wave is as pleasant to look at as a big wave. If you come very close.

Yes, I am fascinated with my silver-painted toes. Why are you asking?

Welcome back, Writercon ladies!

The water pictures are mesmerizing. I can't stop staring, I can almost feel the fresh breeze. I miss the coast so much right now.

it was the best part of the trip, I think - sitting half-in the water and making pictures of waves.

What beautiful pictures! And I can almost feel that wave washing over me. It's very soothing.
