I keep thinking from time to time that I am far from being a responsible grown-up that I am supposed to be according to calendar year. Some people at 33 were.. you know... and what do I do?

More often than not I feel that I stayed fifteen. Or eight. Or five. Depending on the mood.

What could be the reason for this? I asked myself in the moments of retrospection. And sure enough, I have a suitably weird answer for this.

You see, when I was fourteen, we traveled in Carpathian mountains - a group from my school, twenty kids and teachers. There were a lot of springs there. And a lot of local legends. Most legends told that the springs would bring eternal youth to anyone who drinks from them.

Needless to say we all drank A LOT.

Who knew the legends might actually be true?

Jesus died at 33. Then rose to eternal life (or so they say).

So not only do you have the eternal youth thing going, if you compare yourself to that 33-year old, you've got the eternal life thing going.

Although, comparing oneself to Jesus could be ... presumptuous?

It is kind of funny, how we, when thinking about age/achievement ratio, we usually compare ourselves to people who die at the age of comparison, as if death is the highest achievement. Which in case of Jesus partly is, but I honestly wasn't comparing myself to Him. Though I can't help remembering, either.

I usually compare myself to Pushkin. Which is also presumptuous, of course, in lesser degree. Comparing to Pushkin, I suck...
