Baby's big city travel
Oct. 22nd, 2007 04:25 pmToday I went to see my doctor (six weeks' check-up), which normally is 35-40 min trip to the city centre, mostly by subway. However, now I must travel with the baby, and baby travels in his stroller. So, our travels get much more interesting, and include looking for elevators in subway first of all. Thankfully, there are a lot of them - but I start getting annoyed that in is not everywhere. One gets used to conveniences very fast.
After visiting the doctor I decided to walk some more, and we marched on. Danila was very patient with this insanity, and mostly slept throughout. However he did got really hungry and reminded me about it very loudly. I was thinking about running home fast (I cannot really catch a taxi, but must run to the station with the elevator in it - buses are too random, and I am not sure we'll fit there), but spotted a tea shop, nice and empty. Today is abnormally hot for October - +26C, and some iced tea was very welcome. So we got in, chose a table, and had a nice quiet meal: I - apple-flavoured tea, baby - milk. Travelling with the baby is an interesting experience; people on the street are curious and very helpful, but I need to get him to like our sling. What will I do without subway elevators?

Date: 2007-12-04 09:43 pm (UTC)Oh, that's unfortunate! Ours falls asleep as soon as we strap him into the carrier and start walking! Which is very handy, because the other travellers on the bus or subway certainly appreciate a sleeping baby more than a crying one.
