A quick question: how to make roasted bell peppers? It must be easy enough, right?

I probably should look recipes in the Internet, but I’d like something tried and true.

30, 45 minutes? dunno. i just put things in the oven & let them cook.

get some peppers, some pearl onions if you can find them. salt, pepper, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a little olive oil, some water. oven at 375-450 maybe. let the onions cook for 30-45 minutes, put the peppers in, go another 30-45. if they're not done, put it all in a skillet & by the time the other stuff reduces they should be done.

did that make any kind of sense?

I tried to experiment first, but it didn't bring the results anywhere near I wanted, so I'll try yours.

Mine is much simpler than [livejournal.com profile] automatedalice_'s, as it is not a recipe itself but makes roasted peppers to put in other stuff: spray the underside of peppers with Pam or oil them. Place on cookie sheet. Pierce skin (of peppers, not self) with fork. Bake 30-45 minutes around 375 (until skin is slightly blackened). Let cook, peel, seed, chop, use as needed.
