Do you just hate it because of some undefined thing? Or is there a story behind this?

My hate is directed at the (non)word "irregardless". Hee.

I believe it is a case of an unreasonable distaste. This phrase – though I meet it often in different places, so it seems to a standard – looks terribly formal and awry to me. Of course, it is always can be mynon-understanding of it, but still I cringe every time I see it.
