Well, I am now officially a resident of Mountain View, California. Unloaded our moving container with our stuff, registered a kid for middle school (wow!), passed the test for the driving license. Registered to vote. Know nothing.

Getting to California was fun - driving all the way through to the west. Washington, DC (not on the way, but it was fun) - Pittsburgh, PA - Ohio - Indiana - Chicago, IL - Iowa (the birthplace of Riley Finn) - too many cornfields - Omaha, NE - Boulder, CO - Mountains and stuffs - Salt Lake City, UT - Reno, NV - California.

Didn't see any roadside attractions. 7-8 hours of driving everyday altogether, but for me - 3-3-30 hours, not bad. Kids were pretty good in the car, mostly played Lego. Had a great time in Washington, Chicago and Boulder.

I'm sorry, that MUST be a mistake. There is no way you have a child old enough for middle school. In my head, he's only about six. Maybe seven.

the road trip was a lot of fun. Except for all the cornfields...

You know, those are crazy times (for many reasons, obviously but when you see a movie with adult stars, and then you check IMDB and they are technically young enough to be your kids...) At least I can still pretend to be a young mom of young kids, even when I feel really old
