Mar. 26th, 2022 03:44 pmI cannot not think about the war in Ukraine and Russia's self-destruction. The range of emotions I go through at any given day is astounding. But on the other hand, physically I am better, as I am kind of gotten used to it.
I mean, it is all horrible, as people keep dying and being displaced, and there is no end in sight, but I started sleeping at night and stopped shaking, so - yay?
I am reading, and watching stuff, and gardening, and even writing a bit.
I have finished the story - still in the Avatar the Last Airbender fandom, but it got too personal in several unexpected ways.
We Touch the Echoes of the Past, where Ty Lee learns than one of her ancestors was an Air Nomad and tries to figure out what it means for her.
At first it stemmed from the discussion of the disappearance of the Airbending and included my thoughts of keeping cultures alive as opposed to keeping people alive, then it got mixed with feelings about learning (as a teenager) that one of my great grandmothers was Jewish and everyone preferred not to talk about it - but the clues were all there, so it wasn't really surprising.
And finally, it got colored by the start of the war.
Well, everything is colored by the war. Even the rose bush I planted is of a variety "Peace." It didn't help so far. But if magic worked...
