we are alive

In case anyone wasn't sure. After Sandy passed by, we were left without power, and still are powerless. Everything else is ok. Lack of electricity is a major inconvenience, but not an end of the world, especially comparing to horrible devastation in other places. Daniel is quite happy - he regards everything as a wonderful adventures. We eat out, we visit friends, he gets to sleep in his clothes and read with a flash light...
We are less enchanted and keep watching town updates about power restoration and everything. Next week we are to leave for California.
