[livejournal.com profile] molly_may gave me those names as a part of these meme:

Comment and I will give you ten actors and ten actresses. Then post in your Livejournal with your favorite films of theirs.

The thing is, my movie watching is weird. During my University years I watched whatever happen on TV, but it was in Russia, so the selection of what was on TV was pretty random. And here and now I hardly ever watch serious dramas. So my movie choices tend to lean toward cheesy. Enjoy!

1. Tom Cruise
Here is an interesting thing: I don't generally like Ton Cruise, but I am okay with his movies. And the movie I like the most is not the best one objectively, but the one where his off-screen personality bothers me the least: Minority Report. I don't feel I need to like his character here, and can just go along with the ride.
2. Jack Nicholson
this is the rare case where I have too many movies to choose from. Too many awesome movies I like a lot. So I'll go backwards and choose the silly Roger Corman movie The Raven, that I enjoyed for its pure cheesy fun and a very young and pretty Jack Nicholson.
3. Robert DeNiro
He is a great actor, but I am unexplainably “meh” about him. So Taxi Driver it is.
4. Hugh Grant
At first I found myself scratching my head – has he been in anything but romcoms? Playing the same role over and over again? Then I remembered – Sense and Sensibility. It is technically, of course, romcom as well, but Jane Austen makes everything better. I haven't watched it in a long time, but I liked everybody there.
5. Jude Law
IMDB, my best friend in this meme, reminds me that he was in a lot of decent movies that I either didn't like of didn't remember, but Sherlock Holmes was fun to watch, and I liked his Dr. Watson a lot.
6. Matthew Broderick
How many people there dislike Ferris Bueller's Day Off? Or am I alone? I might have watched it too late. Anyways, my favorite of his is Ladyhawke. It is such a pretty movie.
7. Heath Ledger
A Knight's Tale. It is as silly as it can get, but a good cheesy fun. And the supporting cast is as good, or probably even better than the main.
8. Ben Stiller
That was too hard. Madagascar is the only one I can watch that has something of Ben Stiller in it.
9. Tommy Lee Jones
Men in black. The first one.
10. Daniel Day Lewis

And in this case I couldn't find anything. Seriously.

1. Catherine Zeta Jones
She is an actress I enjoy looking at. No matter what are her acting skills and human qualities – I don't know those, but she is such an eye candy for me. As of movies, I think The Mask of Zorro. Cuz it is light and breezy and has Antonio Banderas in it as well.
2. Anne Hathaway
I realized that I haven't seen anything but The Princess Diaries with her. So, I guess, I like it the most. :)
3. Rachel McAdams
I actually saw several movies with her, all of them okay, none outstanding. Let it be Sherlock Holmes, for it is my latest impression of her, and she is adorable in that movie.
4. Jennifer Connelly
Labyrinth ! I watched it completely by accident back in 80s, in Moscow, because it was brought there for some kind of kids' movie festival, and I saw a preview somewhere and dragged my parents to find one or two movie theaters where it was showing.
5. Keira Knightley
Pirates of the Caribbean. There were a lot of movies before and after, some of which I've even seen, but nothing got better for her.
6. Tilda Swinton
Orlando. She is probably the only person who can convincingly portray a man changing into a woman without any makeup changes of special effects.
7. Helen Mirren
Now, again – she is in a lot of movies I don't remember at all.
8. Queen Latifah
Chicago. This is the movie where I am enjoying the hell out of her. She fits in the role so snugly, so delightfully!
9. Joan Allen
The Bourne Ultimatum. I think Pamela Lundy is a damn good role (we need more female intelligence officers who win not through running and shooting, but through thinking fast, even when we are sure she can do running and shooting as well), and Joan Allen does very well indeed. I really want a female spy movie with Joan Allen or Judy Dench or both of them at once.
10. Joan Cusack
Addams Family Values. Not because of Joan Cusack, but because it is Addams Family Values. And it has my favourite family and lots and lots of moments I love passionately. Like Wednesday's smile.
