Bryant Park

We spent time in Bryant Park today, waiting for the Piano in the Park series. It seemed to be an awesome and crazy place. The piano music was good (Joel Forrester was playing jazz on a cheerfully green piano), the sandwich was good but overpriced, the weather was pleasant (AKA not hot). D. ran around trying to sit on as many chairs as possible. Some guy in regular office clothes was juggling balls. Then we tried the carousel - D was afraid at first, then happy riding his horse, and as soon as he got comfortable, we had to go. Next time we might try riding a frog.

I, meanwhile, found myself squeeing about awesome architecture around it - Art Deco skyscrapers and such and getting lost in NY Public Library.

It is fun to be in places you know nothing about - no expectations, just surprises!

Hopefully the mosquitoes weren't too bad. I still have welts on my legs where they ate me alive!

Mosquitoes didn't bother us at all there - but we stayed away from the lawn (there were too many people laying there).

I did get bitten by a strange bug somewhere in the city...
