Five years since the destruction of Sunnydale

I suck at posting.

But today I had a nagging feeling that something is worth posting, I checked the dates - and yes, it was May 20, 2003 when Chosen first aired in North America. Oh, my... So long time, and I still cling to it, to Buffy, to her friends, to me friends I made because of it. I still haven't found anything better to obsess about (except for baby fandom, of course)- and I am not in a hurry, really.

today the link is going around about Buffy and a reporter in Iraq - and, honestly, I can say the same thing about myself and Buffy. Even now, as I am typing this, Selfless is playing behind me. (Baby is napping).

It is the anniversary of Buffy's last smile on screen, a little bit sad anniversary - because there was no more new BtVS episodes to watch and enjoy and argue about, but a happy anniversary more - because it is a great story, and a great end to this story we watched for seven seasons.

and I love this Buffy's smile. Happy anniversary!

It's so weird - it's some ancient prehistoric time when I didn't have an LJ and lived in Richmond, BC, and yet - almost yesterday...

5 years? Wow. Doesn't seem all that long, but I guess it is...

And it's funny, because for me Chosen was the thing that made me go online, which made me discover fandom. So although it was the end of the show, it was the start of *this*, and for that I will always be grateful - I couldn't imagine life without fandom & LJ.

I was lurking a bit for most of the season 7, but I didn't think I could write in English well enough. Only in autumn I got brave to ask for a code for LJ (just before they abolished the codes)
and yet - I cannot imagine myself without fandom either!

Five years? Oh, my show. It's the show that's brought me some of the best people in the world, on top of everything else, and for that reason especially it will always have a place in my heart. First place, as far as the TV show section of my heart goes. :)

Five years! I had forgotten the date. I feel like a failure as an obsessive. Heee. It's hard to believe that it's been over for five years and yet I still think about it every day.
