International Women's Day

The other day I had an argument with my husband about the spring. Mainly about the differences between spring in Vancouver and in Toronto. Now, between Vancouver and Toronto I would always pick Moscow, but one cannot deny that weather in Vancouver is very nice. Very nice mild climate, flowers all year round, no snow (beside the mountains), and etc. Yet I was missing the feeling of the beginning of spring - winter is ending, and everything is going to be just fine from now on, no more heavy coats, no more boots, ruined by the ice salt… Now, don’t get me wrong: March is probably the worst month in Moscow – uncertain weather, dirty melting snow uncovers piles of garbage from the whole winter, incredible ease of catching the cold… It is all there, yet that feeling of the beginning – I was missing it in Vancouver, and I have it now. Of course, my husband argued that it is stupid to cut the fingers in order to feel happy later that they healed. Well, he is right about fingers. Only it is irrelevant. I still prefer the climate with four distinct seasons – I am used to it. Spring is here, tra-la-la-la…
Speaking of spring, I celebrate the International Women’s Day today, March 8. It’s fun, and I want to share the fun with everybody!
So here is two really old Soviet posters for the occasion. I wonder, what do you think about them?
