Once my husband and I were walking on a cemetery...

I never get to finish this phrase: some starting falling on the ground laughing, some are gasping, some are having a heart attack.

and I can never understand what's wrong with walking at cemeteries in general. I am not particularly morbid, and I am not searching for cemeteries to walk there, but seriously? Why not to walk there if it's close to home, quiet, beautiful, and provides a more pleasant walk to the supermarket than the busy street? But, you know, some people are even getting concerned about the baby... ::insert the eye roll::

Anyway, I walked at many cemeteries throughout my childhood, and I am still quite sane. :)

By the way, once my husband and I were walking on a cemetery and we saw a family of large animals (probably groundhogs) looking for food among the graves. They looked very amusing.

I like walking through cemeteries. They're very peaceful, with often beautiful stonework, and reading the epitaphs is a bit of history.

We had a very old little cemetery behind our house, and sometimes we'd picnic there.

I don't see the epitaphs there much (I am talking about Mount Pleasant cemetery here), but I do love looking at names and imagine the people and their lives..

Exactly.

Our local cemetery is the best place for a walk. The grounds are very well maintained, with sawdust paths, lots of shade, wildflowers, an excellent view of the hills, an Egyptian Revival style masoleum, historical markers (city founder and Oregon's first governor are buried here, also all the people who have streets named after them). OMG, I sound like an advertising brochure. But it's true!
The more people walk there, the less shady activity takes place. There's one downside, however - it's a neighborhood gossip mill (thankfully I'm not often involved).

Sadly we don't have any cute groundhogs. Only very нахальныe squirrels.

We have there lots and lots of squirrels, chipmunks, raccoons and such, not to mention various birds I don't know. and lots of people not yet dead - walking, jogging and cycling. :)

I KNOW.

Same here, sans husband, though: I like walking across a cemetary, and why not?

I love walking in cemeteries! When I was young my grandmother lived next door to one and my brother and I would play in it as long as there weren't any funerals.

I used to walk with my grandfather on the cemeteries. I loved it and it would never occurred to me there was anything strange about it.

Yeah. I don't bother the dead, the dead don't bother me. It's great place for quiet walks!
