It took awhile for Bones to grow on me too. I spent most of the first season wanting to slap Bones because of her constant "What does that mean" and "I don't get that". She claimed to not know who the Grinch was! But they toned down that aspect of her character considerably and softened her a bit and she has some really nice chemistry with Booth now.
