As the birthday girl, you are allowed to have your cake and eat it. You should definitely keep both, especially since you do them both so well.

This is sadly all too true. I need to get a new printer, and have been looking into how much ink costs for various different kinds - only to be told that it's probably cheaper to get a new printer every time than bother replacing the ink cartridges. The waste is absolutely criminal. Our TV is twenty-something years old, and I am putting off getting a new one for as long as possible, because I know there's nothing around nowadays made with that kind of longevity.
