stuff and other stuff

First of all, I wish Happy Birthday to
marsterslady! I am very glad to know you in LJ, and seeing you at Writercon this summer was a great bonus. :) I wish your troubles will pass, and everything will get right.
I met friends whom I knew in Vancouver last Friday - they were going from Russia to Vancouver and decided to stay in Toronto for couple of days, so we met them and talked - not too much, unfortunately, as we were working and they have a big family (two kids and two parents) and lots of stuff to do. But it was a nice meeting - getting updates on our lives and lives of our common friends - our small community of people who worked together at some point in Richmond, BC. We all were very close at some point - just after coming to Canada - then everyone started moving in different directions: different interests, different jobs, different places... But we still are keeping the connection, however tenuous it becomes in some cases. I was so very happy to see the friends - we haven't seen each other in three years, and didn't really miss, but right now I miss them terribly already - and others, who are in BC, and BC itself... especially this place:
I got all nostalgic about - and I have no idea why I got so attached to this place, even though I knew more beautiful ones. I still got reminded why I don't want to live in BC again, but I am thinking that I will get around to visiting it and my friends there.
