Travelling Adventures
Apr. 13th, 2004 04:52 pmI went to the airport today. I needed to get to Airway Centre, and I was told that it is just where the airport is. I was at the airport several times, and I got lost there every one of them. Not, terminally lost, mind you – after some walking around and asking questions I was able to find myself, find whatever I was looking for, and got home. So, I was sure, I know the airport by now.
HA!
I may have known something about the airport, but nothing helped me with the Airway Centre. So, I asked some guy, who clearly worked there and appeared to have nothing to do at the moment, where it was, and how to get there. He told me that it was a big road, that it was not safe out there, and I should have taken a cab. Thank you, very helpful! Idiot.
The next guy gave me precise directions, mentioned the walk would be fun, as sidewalks were virtually non-existent along Airport Road, but there are buses if I want to wait for one. That what I call a gentleman.
So I walked from Terminal 3 to Airway Centre. No, it wasn’t a pleasant walk – not due to the dangers of the road, but due to disgusting weather. It is not exactly raining, it is like all the water just hang in the air. And when I got the building, I saw the sprinklers working, watering the lawn. I do not understand watering the lawn in a dry weather, as well, so I wasn’t particularly surprised.
When I took the paper out to check the address, I cut my finger and bloodied everything around me. Not everything everything, of course.
On my way back I forgot where the bus stop is, and when I finally found it, I was so happy, and I sat in the first bus to come, without looking at the number (actually, there are not so many buses go to the airport, and I was fine with any of them to get me out of there. I even was slightly disappointed to find out that it was the right one.
Yesterday we were watching “Miss USA” and mocking the girls. Turned out we have the same taste in women. The recipe for a marital bliss, isn’t it?
