Or _ I am out of decent titles for the entries.
I started to write this entry two weeks ago, and naturally, it is outdated by now. For example I planned to start with treatise on summer's ending and autumn's starting, and now what? it's all old news. We are one week till October. The weather though, is gorgeous- it is my favourite part of my favourite season, and everything is just right, even when it is cold and rains, and wind is piercing my bones.
But on the last Sunday the weather was wonderful, and I talked myself into taking a nice long bicycle trip somewhere south from home. The way there led through the Mount Pleasant cemetery where I usually cycling and to the Moore park Ravine and further south, where the trail turned and became the way somewhere north until I wasn't riding but walking briskly with by bicycle as I was afraid to fall into another ravine. It was as perfect as it can be - the sun, the wind, the trail, the shrubs and flowers around me, chipmunks and squirrels running on the sides, and me. Quite happy me. Suddenly I didn't feel like I am in Toronto - or any other specific place, going in some specific destination - just the road and mild September evening. Perfect moment if there is one, that by now became a happy memory.
Last Friday I paid a cute boy to rub my shoulders. it was very nice. Ok, it was a registered Massage therapist, and I had shoulder pain after the working week, but still: cute boy, rubbing my shoulders, always a plus.
On Saturday we splurged money on lots of books. Mostly husband, but I have bought myself Connie Willis To say nothing of a dog, which I read before from a library and was looking to buy. Now I am happily savouring the time travel and wit.
My birthday is coming up, and I keep spending money on presents for myself - while enjoying my last days in twenties. My mother stayed 28 for ten years; I understand her now, but I have a lot of great on the other side, and I almost look forward to join them there. ;)
I have picked up couple of horse chestnuts along the way - I cannot just pass a chestnut tree in autumn without picking up some.
Also, it's our seventh wedding anniversary today.

It's still quite warm here during the day, but the nights have gotten a bit cooler, which is lovely. I'm looking forward to being able to wear sweaters and jackets again!
I wish Connie Willis would release a new book. It's been years since her last one, and she's one of my favorite authors.

Heh, me too. I can't believe summer is over, it went by so fast [grumbles about time flying] And September always feels like the beginning of the new year for me. Not January.

Hm? I thought you already did. In any case, don't worry about it - it's not that there is anything to read there!

Date: 2006-09-27 11:54 pm (UTC)I haven't actually read anything else by Connie Willis - what would you think I might read next? In any case this one got even better on the second read, and I am enjoying the whole lot, and having all kind of weird thoughts on history (which isn't new for me).
