Married couple. Eight kids (some sets of twins).

He started cheating on her and they're separated. Big schturm und drang.

Reality TV parents, who had twin girls, then went back for a boy & ended up with sextuplets. Their hit show spawned a lot of haters headed by members of their own family who felt shafted. Oh, the family members say they care about the kids, but I doubt it. Most of the venom was directed at the mother, Kate, who was a shrew, but we're now finding out her husband is a lazy douche, who's had to be propped up by the wife throughout their marriage. It's all tawdry and depressing because there are kids involved, but America loves a trainwreck.

tawdry and depressing seems a very apt description
