Parallels

I can’t keep myself from drawing parallels.

When I saw on TV – in the news reporting Pr. Bush’s tour in the Louisiana – a Random Guy saying about Bush: “ I saw such care in his eyes!” I couldn’t stop thinking about Lenin.

I mean, probably Random Guy did see care in his President’s eyes. May be even there was care there, but the phrase itself was a staple description of Lenin in the Soviet iconography.

Kind of funny.

Oh yes! And don't forget that peculiar twinkle in his eyes.

This is a bit off topic, but I can't resist.

I hadn't know that. Thanks (I think) for the scary imagery.

(BTW, there was a campaign at work a few years ago to meet a specific goal, and someone came up with a series of signs promoting it. All the artwork was based on Soviet-era posters. Those of us old enough to recognize it for what is was were making sniggering comments, when the posters were suddenly removed. I never found out if some young graphic artist just liked the images or if it was a deliberate comment on the plan was was, possibly co-incidentally, expected to take 5 years to complete.)
