It's also very difficult for me to ask myself what S7 failings occurred on a thematic level when S7 fails to cohere even on a basic "What does the villain want?" level. Prior seasons I can dissect more carefully, but when I have no understanding at any point of what the primary driver is after, what it wishes to accomplish, why it does what it does, and not only whether or not it has been defeated in the end but whether anything of any import at all has happened with regard to its agenda...there are too many dangling limbs in S7 for me to have any real ability to look at the forest.
